Overview

MailMerge automatically creates personalized documents from templates and delivers them however you need.

Start with a template

A Word document with placeholders {formFields}.

Populate the data

The system fills in each placeholder using data from your records (claims, policies, contacts, etc.).

Generate the output

Produces a finalized PDF or Word document with all fields resolved.

Deliver the document

MailMerge can:

  • Attach the file to the parent record
  • Email it to recipients
  • Fax it
  • Send for signature via DocuSign

Identifies the type of record you will be performing the MailMerge file creation on. For example: Claim, Policy, Invoice, etc.

You can use MailMerge on any domain, but:

  • If the domain has HasFiles = true: Full functionality (generate, save, email, fax)
  • If the domain has HasFiles = false: Limited functionality (generate, email, fax only — no save to record)

Most transactional domains (Claims, Policies, Incidents, etc.) support files, so MailMerge works fully. Some administrative or configuration domains may not.
